When I arrived in Korea, I really didn't know what to expect. There were 2 things I was absolutely sure of; I would live in Korea for at least a year, for better or worse. I didn't bring enough money. I flew in on a Sunday night and I started to work in an English academy Monday morning. I would wait 2 months and then some for my first paycheck since I had to wait for immigration to clear things (Korean paychecks are distributed monthly, not bi-weekly). Back in 2011, I had aspirations to be a lawyer. The way that my father put it was that I was built to be a lawyer (I'll get into that another time).
